Currently working towards her BFA exhibition Juleanna looks back to her first exposure to the arts. Her earliest memories of creation involve sitting at a sewing machine surrounded by her grandmother and aunts who were teaching her the art of meticulous measurement, intentional color choices, and precise stitching of fabric to create masterpieces that might being lying in someone’s chest for generations to come. Inspired by Josef Albers approach to color and Mark Rothko’s large expanses of color, Juleanna approaches the art of quilting from a new direction and is redefining her familiar.
